The annual match between Hawkhurst and Woodlands Manor at Willingdon GC on 25th August was a close fought encounter with Woodlands Manor finally securing victory 3 1/2 to 2 1/2.
Hawkhurst Golf Club claimed victory in the Kent 9 Hole Golf Club Tournament on 24th August. Teams from 8 clubs in Kent took part at Hawkhust. The home team of Steven Shipley, Tom Morrow, Mike Hodgson, Bill Shelley, Darren Child and Bill West scored 132 points. Runners -up were Fawkham Valley on 126 points with Sidcup third on 105 points. The long course and difficult conditions at Park Wood Golf Club on 4th August proved too much for the Hawkhurst team in the annual Wealden Trophy which was won by Dale Hill with 340 points. Park Wood were runners up with 318 points. Tenterden had 289 points and Hawkhurst 257 points.
In a close fought match in the Jack Hicks Knockout on 4th August, Hawkhurst were narrowly defeated at home by a strong team from Fawkham Valley. Hawkhurst trailed 3-1 after the morning foursomes, but came back strongly in the afternoon singles, but were defeated 5 1/2 to 6 1/2.

Bill West and Ron Dunham (Hawkhurst) won the West Kent Salvers at West Kent with a stableford points score of 46.
There was a field of 140 participants so it was a great accomplishment. Bill & Ron also won this competition the previous two years making it a hatrick.
This is the first time since the inauguration of the Society of the Kent Golf Captains that anybody has achieved this accolade...
Due to insufficient participants, the Hawkhurst Trophy which is played over 27 holes, has been postponed. It is hoped to rearrange the event later in the season. Watch this space!!!!
The Shipley Cup was participated by all sections of the Golf Club on Sunday 13th May. The Competition was started by Albert & Betty Shipley, the Club Captains grandparents, and it was designed to get the sections together and as the "Shipley's" have been involved in all sections.
The Mens, Vets, Ladies and the Juniors all fielded teams of 8, with each score counting towards a team total over 9...
The May Day Texas Scramble held on the 7th May was enjoyed by all those that took part, the winning team was Joan Amos, Charlie Mephem, Shane Wilson and Club Captain Steven Shipley.

Wednesday the 28th March is the first 9 Hole Roll Up which starts at 15:00. This lasts through the summer months and will no doubt improve your game and is a lot of fun.

Mike Hodgson (Captain for the day) presided over a wonderful 5.5 to 4.5 win at Rye GC on saturday 24th March. A great day's golf was enjoyed by both sets of player in warm sunny conditions. Another great Victory on Saturday 18th February 2012 by the lads, said Club Captain Steve Shipley. The team of Edward Pardoe, Bill West, Pat Glynn, David Bedford and Steve beat Holtye Golf Club at home 3-2.
Following the Quiz night on Friday 10th February, Stuart reported a profit of £140.00 which goes to the golf committee funds.
It would have been more but there were 2 teams short and unfortunately, not many club members. However the 50 or so present all seemed to enjoy it, especially Patricia Groves’s cooking which was why there was plenty of time for supper.
